On Saturday ICSO’s Boating Enforcement Safety Team (B.E.S.T.) responded to Senators Wash in Winterhaven reference a missing male. Family and witnesses saw the 62 year old male riding the Jet Ski in the lake and not wearing a personal floatation device (life vest). He was last seen off of the jet ski and swimming towards the shore line. Law Enforcement services were dispatched to the area to attempt to locate the male. ICSO, Yuma County Sheriff’s, BLM boating units along with ICSO’s and Yuma County’s dive teams searched for him. On Sunday morning, Imperial Irrigation District and ICSO’s dive teams located the body about 250 yards from the shore line. The incident is being investigated by B.E.S.T. as a boating accident.
